Are you a knitter, crocheter, or drop-spindler who’s also interested in health, wellness, and/or fitness? If so, join me for the one of my Swiss Yarn Festival Fit-Knit courses!
What is Fit-Knitting? Fit-knitting (along with Stitch-and-Stretching) refers to the practice of combining fundmental calisthenics workouts with your various fiber arts projects. By multi-tasking your exercise with your crafting, you not only cultivate a healthy body but also a healthy mind. Most importantly, these workouts feel enlivening—it’s enjoyable to engage your body while you spend your time at your favorite fiber pursuits!
Courses will teach knitters, crocheters, and/or drop-spindlers a variety of exercises to maintain total body fitness. Each course includes workouts for the upper body, lower body, and core in addition to stretching. I welcome anyone regardless of previous fitness experience—all exercises include beginner, intermediate, and advanced variations.
Workshop Content:
- 10 minute intro
- 15 minute Lower Body workout
- 5 minute pause
- 15 minute Upper Body workout
- 5 minute pause
- 15 minute Core workout
- 5 minute pause
- 20 minute Stretching and Questions
Bring Along
- Something to drink
- Possibly a yoga mat
- A super simple, small knitting or crochet project or a spindle
- Comfortable clothing
- Possibly a protein bar or so
