What is important to know when knitting colourwork? Sofia will talk about colour combinations, techniques and practical tips and trix. We are starting to knit a cowl in two colours. The pattern is included in the workshop fee.
Homework
Check your gauge to find the correct size for your needles. With smaller needle and colour A, cast on 130 stitches. Join the round and make sure your work is not twisted. With colour A, knit the ribbing as follows: * k1, p1 * repeat * – * until end of round. Repeat ribbing for 8 rounds in total.
Bring Along
- Yarn in two contrasting colours (colour A 60 g + colour B 50 g), sports weight, for example Rauma finull, Hillesvåg Sol, Jamieson & Smith
- Circular needles to obtain gauge, perhaps 3.0 – 4.0 mm
- Additional circular needle 0,5mm smaller than gauge needles for the ribbing
Prequesites
Beginner/medium at colourwork knitting (knitting with two strands of yarn to create a pattern) but you should be used to knitting in one colour.
