What originally began as contract dyeing for museums and restorers was transferred to the Alte Künste label in 2011 in order to make the variety of historical colours accessible to high-quality knitting yarns. Therefore, the Alte Künste do not use any plants with little or no light fastness: Those who take many hours to produce beautiful handicrafts should have unadulterated pleasure through durable colours.

Since 2011 the label Anna & Juan has been dyeing wool and yarns with natural dyestuffs and distributes its own merino yarn line from controlled organic animal husbandry. It also produces crochet hooks and knitting accessories from Swiss wood or industrial waste. In autumn 2019, Anna & Juan opened a studio with shop and production facility in Zurich Oerlikon. However, a variety of textile courses and workshops also take place in the location.
