Fashion Show by AHA-Mode
The fashion show is being organized by AHA-Mode this year. The dance school ‘Stellwerk’ from Chur is once again showing fashion from the handicrafts sector in a special choreography.
The men’s and children’s models will of course be there again.
Lectures by Jule Kebelmann
Jule is a textile designer and lives in Berlin and in the countryside in Brandenburg. Ten years ago, she founded Hey Mama Wolf. Hey Mama Wolf specialises in local European wool. Until a few years ago, Jule hand-dyed them with plant dyes. As the company grew, Hey Mama Wolf became a part of Selected Yarns (Erika Knight, BC Garn, Kremke). Jule went along and is now responsible for product development and marketing of all SY brands. She deals with colours, twists, fibres and knitwear design every day. When she finds time, she also publishes her own knitting patterns.
How is a yarn made? – Product development at Erika Knight from the idea to the finished yarn
You’re in your favourite yarn store and discover a beautiful new yarn with fantastic colours. You take it home with you and you’re really looking forward to knitting with it. The yarn is (hopefully) a delight and after a few weeks, you’ll have your sweater ready and wear it with pleasure.
But what does actually happen before the yarn is in the store? From trend analysis to sampling and lab dips to the design of the label, Jule tells you how the product development of a new yarn quality takes place. We immerse ourselves in the world of different fibres, spinning mills and colours and discover the possibilities.
Maybe you’ve been dreaming of your own yarn label for quite some time? Then you can certainly take some good information with you. The lecture is aimed at interested professionals as well as enthusiastic knitters and crocheters who want to know more about how yarn is made.

ALPAKA – nachhaltig Stricken mit dem Gold der Anden
Have you ever met an alpaca? If so, then you know that these animals can really enmesh you with their gentleness. If you’ve ever held alapaka yarn in your hand, then you know how beautifully soft and silky it can be.
In this lecture we dive into the world of alpacas, the Andes and the yarn production in Peru with its long history. Jule was on site in November and brought back many great photos.
How do the alpacas live and what are the advantages of alpaca breeding in the high mountains of the Andes? How is the fibre processed, from sorting and washing to carding and spinning to the finished knitting yarn? What are the advantages and disadvantages of alpaca wool compared to other fibres? What is the difference between Huacaya and Suri and is it true that there are black alpacas? Does baby alpaca come from the alpaca baby?
We will explore and actually get a feel of all this and more together.

Lecture: Spinning- Knitting -Weaving and Healing
We live in exciting times. Old things want to go, new things will come, but are not yet visible.
I will take you on a journey to yourself and show you a way to heal yourself and your loved ones while doing what you love best, namely spinning, knitting, crocheting and/or weaving. In this way you help to increase peace in the world.
We will meditate together. I will guide you. And finally, I will end the lecture with a story.
