Filet knotting/ filoching is one of the oldest handicraft techniques, the technique in which fishing nets were made in the early Middle Ages.
In this course we want to learn the button with thin cotton thread and practice it on a piece until it fits properly. We also want to learn how to insert a new thread and how to stop a new work. The goal is to be able to continue working at home.
Since this technique is very time-consuming, it is unfortunately not possible to work on a finished piece in this short time. I will try to respond to the individual speed of the participants, therefore it is not sure that everyone will reach the desired goal… I hope to be able to inspire you for this technique, which is threatened by extinction.
