Swiss Yarn Festival Organization
We’ve always looked across the border with a bit of envy at the many wool festivals popping up like mushrooms. Switzerland was a total wool festival desert.
After a lot of back and forth, thinking: “Can we manage such an organization?” “Do we have the time?” “Is it worth the risk?” … the desire for our own festival won out.
Unfortunately, finding a venue was a bit difficult from the start, as we didn’t want to charge a fortune for the stalls. But then—”magic!”—Meret had the great idea of using the Riverside in Glattfelden. Not only did they give us a fair price, but it’s also an old spinning mill located on an idyllic little river, the Glatt.

Asita "Sidi" Krebs
Asita is a passionate spinner, dyer, and knitwear designer. Half of her life revolves around wool. She also works in the IT industry for balance and is a new mom.
"I was repeatedly asked if there would ever be another wool festival in Switzerland. So Meret and I rolled up our sleeves and created the Swiss Yarn Festival."

Meret Bützberger
Meret, better known as Butzeria, is a wool-addicted knitwear designer. She is best known for her double knitting designs, but every now and then something "normal" hops off her needles.
She got the nickname "Double Knitting Queen" at a wool festival, and it stuck 😉
