Description
Get ready to play with your knitting and unleash your creativity by customising your garments with knitted fabric manipulation!
Manipulating knitwear is much easier than you might think, especially with the versatile tuck stitch, which is commonly used in knitwear design. It’s perhaps the easiest way to add texture to knitted garments, akin to cables. However, the beauty of tuck stitch lies in its simplicity: charts for tuck stitches are easy to read and follow, making all the difference.
In this class, we’ll dive into experimenting with various tuck stitch patterns that you can use individually or combine to create captivating all-over designs. I’ll also guide you through the process of planning your own patterns using tuck stitch.
Furthermore, once we’ve grasped how this stitch works, we’ll take it a step further by executing it on an already knitted garment, using tuck stitch as a smocking stitch. The concept is remarkably similar, and knitwear proves to be an ideal fabric for this type of manipulation.
