Description
Knitting colourwork on small needles can be initially challenging but very rewarding and will create beautiful results. Colourwork socks are very fun and quick to knit and this workshop aims to give you the confidence to tackle any colourwork sock pattern.
Together, with Charlotte’s support, we will all knit the colourwork section of the popular ‘Eggs for Easter’ sock pattern designed by Charlotte. Together we will learn various techniques for you to be able to knit colourwork in small circumferences. We will discuss putting colours together for colourwork, revisit techniques for knitting colourwork (English ‘throwing’ style and continental), learn more about gauge and tension to get your socks to fit well, long floats management, fixing mistakes and Charlotte’s own personal tips and tricks for knitting her own colourwork sock designs (many which she will bring with her. Charlotte will also be demonstrating how to duplicate stitch details for the chicken motifs for this sock pattern.
After attending this workshop you should have the skills and confidence to complete your own pair of ‘Eggs for Easter’ socks (in time for Easter!) and be confident enough to start working on other colourwork knitting patterns which require small needles.
The knitting pattern will be provided in English and German.
Homework
