The Swiss Yarn Festival is supporting this year’s wonderful Hug Shawl Campaign – symbolically giving warmth, support, and comfort to women with breast cancer through shawls – by mamazone and Melanie Berg – and you can participate right on-site!

Thanks to the generous support of Lana Grossa, who is providing many skeins of yarn for this campaign, festival visitors have the opportunity to become part of this special community project themselves.

How to participate

If you’re attending the festival, simply come to the information desk. There you’ll receive:

• a skein of yarn (sponsored by Lana Grossa)
• a flyer with instructions for the small knitted triangles

Knitting in a community atmosphere

Would you like to take a little creative break during the festival? Then come to the knitting lounge on the 1st floor. There you can sit comfortably and knit your triangles in a community atmosphere. Melanie Berg also stops by from time to time to chat with you.

Returning triangles

When your triangle is finished (or even several!), please return the knitted triangles and any leftover yarn to the information desk. From there, all contributions will be collected and later assembled into hug shawls.

Whether you knit one triangle or several – each one helps create a sign of solidarity.
