Knit together at the Swiss Yarn Festival – join in the Umarmungstuch campaign

This year, the Swiss Yarn Festival is supporting the wonderful Umarmungstuch campaign – scarves for women with breast cancer symbolically provide warmth, comfort, and support –  by mamazone and Melanie Berg – and you can get involved right there on site!

Thanks to the generous support of Lana Grossa, which is providing lots of balls of yarn for this campaign, festival visitors will have the opportunity to become part of this special community project themselves.

Here’s how you can participate

If you are attending the festival, simply come to the information desk. There you will receive:

  • a ball of yarn (sponsored by Lana Grossa)
  • a flyer with instructions for knitting the small triangles, which you can also download here.

Knitting in a relaxed atmosphere

Would you like to treat yourself to a little creative time-out during the festival? Then come to our Quiet Lounge on the 2nd floor. There you can sit down comfortably, relax, and knit your triangles in a relaxed atmosphere.

Hand in your triangles

When your triangle (or triangles!) is finished, please hand in the knitted triangles and any leftover yarn at the information desk. All contributions will be collected there and later assembled into hug scarves—scarves that symbolically give women with breast cancer warmth, comfort, and support.

Whether you knit one triangle or several, each one helps to send a message of solidarity.

We would be delighted if lots of festival visitors took part and knitted with us.
